Use of Pain in SexThere is no greater pleasure then the intermingling of pleasure and pain. You will be brought to new heights as you experience the sting of a whip and the pleasing touch of your lover. Melding these two delicious forms of human sexuality is nothing new. Pain and sex have been best friends since the days of the ancient world and probably before written word was recorded. Sadism and masochism are words that people are often curious or excited about. Sadism refers to people that are sexually aroused when they are inflicting pain on others. Masochism refers to people that receive sexual gratification from feeling physical or emotional pain. Sadomasochism, which tends to be more popular than the other two options, is where a person can receive sexually orgasmic pleasure when receiving or inflicting pain. During the Middle Ages, the Plague (the Black Death) forced many people into flagellation. People believed the rampant deaths were a sign from God. Assuming that the end was near, flagellants moved through the country in hopes of offering penance to God through the wounds of their flesh. Sin was repaid in pain in those days. Some of the earliest texts written on the subject were not referred to as Sadism or masochism. Masochism is referred to much more though it is not named. Medieval nuns often practiced S&M by means of sexual exploits with partners or by means of self-flagellation.
Perhaps the greatest known figure in S&M is the Marquis de Sade. Made famous by his dark decent in human sexuality, the Marquis is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to the S&M movement. The need for pain during sex is very important for many people. It offers a great release when people are able to experience multiple facets and levels of pain and pleasure. As time has moved on, the ideas of pain have moved from religion and towards the bedroom. The intensity that is necessary will vary greatly by the people placed in the situation. For example, some people might find a firm spanking to be completely exhilarating. Meanwhile, other people might want to experience something harsher like verbal degradation, being whipped, feeling candle wax dripped on them, or even harder things like being completely controlled during sex. Pain and sex should not be mixed in any relationship unless there is mutual trust and open communication. You should spend a great amount of time speaking to your partner about your interests in that area. Tell them what you want to learn or try. If you want to do something specific and your partner shares that interest you could research the activity, purchase any necessary materials, and try it together. You will find that not all areas of interest will be shared by you and your partner but the communication will allow for growth and negotiation to occur. Take the time communicating to advance your relationship so that you can explore in the area of pain and pleasure. The more you are willing to experience for these ideals the more intense your pleasure may become. » 13214 reads |
