Kama Sutra

Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian, sacred text that was written on the topic of human sexual behavior. Sometimes known as the ultimate in sexual how-to advice, the Kama Sutra is the most widely known book of love that was written in the days of Sanskrit literature.

The Kama Sutra is a book meant to detail all aspects of love and the positions and movements that can bring pleasure to a couple. While many rumors abound about the Kama Sutra and the person that wrote it, Vatsyayana, the most popular rumor is that he was a celibate scholar.

The Kama Sutra is made up of 36 chapters that are organized into seven portions. Each portion is said to have been written by individual experts on that particular topic. The seven sections are split up in the following ways:

  1. Introduction (5 chapters)

  2. Amorous Advances (10 chapters)

  3. Acquiring a Wife (5 chapters)

  4. Duties and privileges of the Wife (2 chapters)

  5. Other Men’s Wives (6 chapters)

  6. About Courtesans (6 chapters)

  7. Occult Practices (2 chapters)

There are at least 64 sexual positions that are highlighted in the Kama Sutra. The science behind the 64 positions was that the author believed, as it states in the Kama Sutra, there are eight ways to have sex, and these eight chief ways are then multiplied by eight, which equals 64.

Many people have only focused on the sections of the Kama Sutra that show off the sexual positions and are not aware that the book has many additional strengths and sections to offer. In truth, only a small portion of the book is about the sexual positions that can enhance a relationship.

The idea behind the Kama Sutra is that sex allows for a chance to create a divine union between two people. At this point and by this author it was believed that sex was only wrong if done carelessly or with just anyone.

The sexual areas of the Kama Sutra are made to enhance any willing person’s sex life but the overall book deserves a complete read, as well. For best results, consider reading this book with your lover. Go over the areas that you like and the ones you are not interested in. This will give you a great opportunity to spice up your sex life when you find and try all the intimate and exciting knowledge the Kama Sutra has to offer.
